The location of the Adsense ads on your web pages, as well as how many blocks of Ads you have showing, affects your eCPM with Google Adsense.

Let’s say you have 3 Adsense blocks on one web page (the max allowed). One at the top. One in the middle or in the sidebar. And one at the very bottom of the page.

Google will place the higher paying ads in the first Adsense block shown in your code, with the last Adsense block in your code moving down the scale - showing lower paying ads.

So if your content is great, enticing, and a good presell to the ads on your page, your visitor may read it all and THEN click. If you didnt have ads at the top or in the middle… that bottom ad would be the highest paying ad chosen for that particular page. But as it was, it was the lower… ;-)
